Meeting with the Romanian Ambassador in Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Jerko Ivanković-Lijanović met with the Ambassador of Romania in Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Mr. Filip Teodoreski, on June 15, 2012 in Sarajevo to discuss the potential cooperation in the field of agricultural development.

"Since both our countries are well-endowed agriculturally, our mutual interest is to work on strengthening our cooperation and exchange experience in the field of food production. Bosnia and Herzegovina has to prepare its agricultural potentials for competition within the European Union. For this reason I have asked the Ambassador for concrete support, for our country to solve the issue of export of animal-origin products from Bosnia and Herzegovina," said minister Ivanković-Lijanović, adding that EU Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr. Dacian Ciolos asked Ambassador Teodoresky to use this opportunity to support our producers in their efforts to improve their position on the EU markets.

Minister Ivanković-Lijanović asked Ambassador Teodoreski to forward the invitation to the official opening of the international Food and Agriculture Exhibition – the Plum Fair to the Romanian Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Daniel Constantin in order to discuss details of the future cooperation in agriculture.
